On Wednesday, March 10th, the U.S. House of Representatives approved the $1.9 trillion Covid-19 aid and economic recovery legislation (H.R. 1319, the American Rescue Plan Act). President Biden signed the measure into law on Thursday, March 11th.
This aid package is limited in the amount of direct farmer aid made available. The agriculture components are mostly related to food supply chain initiatives, relief for minority farmers, and nutrition and food aid programs.
