On Friday, July 24th, the U.S. House approved a package of fiscal year spending bills for the 2021 fiscal year, which will begin October 1. The spending measure included four appropriation measures including funding for the Agriculture Department, Food and Drug Administration, Interior Department and Environmental Protection Agency, among other departments and agencies. The bills will have to be reconciled with the Senate before moving to the White House and being signed into law. Negotiations on spending policy are expected to intensify in September as the 2020 fiscal year comes to a close.
