On Thursday, March 25th, the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Nutrition held a hearing on the State of Black Farmers in America. The hearing focused on concerns regarding racial discrimination at the USDA and various challenges facing minority farmers in the U.S. Witnesses included USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack along with representatives of various black farmer associations and other non-government organizations supporting black farmers.
