General Assembly Moves to Consider Budget for 2023 Fiscal Year

The Arkansas General Assembly is soon to wrap up its fiscal session after unveiling the draft Revenue Stabilization Act (RSA), which was placed on lawmakers' desks Thursday, March 3rd. The proposed fiscal year 2023 budget, which begins July 1, represents a 2.9% increase to the state's general revenue budget and is largely in line with the budget proposal introduced by Governor Hutchinson in January. The $6.04 billion budget is expected to provide room for substantial surplus revenue that will be set aside for reserve funding for future needs or emergencies.
