The Arkansas General Assembly met on Friday November 6th to discuss committee and seat selections as well as certain leadership posts. The House Speaker, Matthew Shepherd announced that the House would meet next week to discuss committee selections and other leadership posts. The processes for these selections were established at the meeting. In the Senate, Senators this week elected Senator Jimmy Hickey (R-Texarkana) to serve as Senate Pro-Tem, the highest level leadership position in the Senate. Senator Scott Flippo was named Majority Leader, Senator Keith Ingram was named Minority Leader.
Senator Jonathan Dismang was named Chair of Joint Budget and Senator Dave Wallace was named Vice-Chair of Joint Budget. Senator Ron Caldwell chose to serve as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee and Senator Bill Sample chose to serve as Chairman of Senate Revenue and Tax.
