EPA Punts on Establishing RFS Volume Requirements

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) once again delayed decisions related to renewable fuel standard updates for renewable volume obligations (RVOs) for utilization of biodiesel and ethanol. The decision drew the ire of the renewable fuels industry and the agriculture sector that depends on that market for demand. The EPA still has not issued 2021 and 2022 RFS rules or established 2023 volumes, and they've yet to announce decisions on pending small refinery exemptions.
