On April 12th, President Joe Biden announced various actions aimed at increasing domestic fuel supply through expansion of biofuel production. The announcement included plans to implement a national, emergency waiver, that would allow for year round E15 to be blended with gasoline supply. In addition, President Biden announced potential plans for the Environmental Protection Agency EPA to allow canola oil to be used as a feedstock for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
Fuel prices across the United States have increased substantially in recent months as demand has risen and market disruption has occured following the Russian invasion and war against Ukraine.
