Election 2020 Results

On November 3rd, Americans went to the polls to vote on a wide range of candidates and issues ranging from the president of the United States to local offices and issues. While most results are determined, there are still some that remain unresolved as votes are still being counted. Included in the unresolved list of races is the election for president of the United States where absentee and mail in ballots, which are in record number due to the pandemic, are still being counted. Some are likely to be challenged, contested, and recounted.

At a state level, no constitutional offices were in cycle, but there were several legislative elections and some important statewide issues, including a ballot initiative (Issue 1) to maintain highway funding through the 1/2 cent sales tax. That initiative passed with roughly 55% of the vote. Also approved by a similar margin was Issue 2 to further restrict term limits at the General Assembly.

The Arkansas Congressional delegation remains intact as Senator Tom Cotton was re-elected along with the state's four members of the U.S. House of Representatives. It appears likely that the U.S. Senate will maintain its Republican majority, which makes it likely that Senator John Boozman (R-AR) will assume the role of Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry.
