Crawford Introduces AIM Act to Address Foreign Threats in Agriculture and Food

On Tuesday, March 9th, U.S. Congressman Rick Crawford introduced the Agriculture Intelligence Matters (AIM) Act (HR 1625) to create a new bureau in the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to assess and address potential foreign and domestic threats in the area of agriculture and food production. The office would coordinate with other intelligence and law enforcement entities of the federal government to address threats and attacks against the United States in this area. Threats include, but are not limited to, theft of U.S. agriculture knowledge and technology, biological warfare attacks, cyber or clandestine operations, or other means of sabotaging and disrupting the agriculture industry.
