COVID-19 Aid Negotiations Slowing as Large Differences Yet to be Bridged

While discussions continue between the House and Senate and the White House on the next round of COVID-19 aid, which includes sigificant assistance to farmers, it appears the differences are far from being worked out. The ongoing pandemic is entering a new phase with summer coming to a close and schools across the country preparing to accept students into their classrooms and facilities, and many in Washington seem unsure of what the full scope of needs will be in the coming weeks and months to deal with the effects of the virus. In addition to this precarious moment in time relating to the aid package, Congress must still finish work on fiscal year 2021 spending before October 1, and a presidential election season is underway with the vote to be held on November 3rd.
