On Thursday, May 18th, the U.S. Senate approved an emergency spending bill that would make available $40 billion in new aid for Ukraine. The funding, which now goes to President Biden to be signed into law, will provide humanitarian assistance and military defense supplies to help Ukraine as it continues to endure war brought by Russia. The war has been ongoing for nearly three months since Russia invaded Ukraine.
