Census Data Begins to Roll In

On Monday, April 26th, the U.S. Census Bureau issued some of the baseline findings collected during the 2020 Census. The data showed the resident population of the United States on April 1, 2020, was 331,449,281, which was an increase of 7.4% from 2010. For Arkansas, the state's population grew at 3.3% and rests at 3,011,524. More detailed data is expected for each state by August, which will kickstart redistricting in each state. Based on the aggregate data for all states, some states will lose Congressional seats while others may gain seats under federal apportionment laws.
