Boozman Expected to Take Ag Committee Helm if Republicans Hold Senate Majority

Senator John Boozman is expected to become Chairman of the U.S. Senate Agriculture and Forestry Committee if Republicans hold onto its majority in the Senate. As it stands now, Georgia's two Republican Senators are on course to run-offs in their respective campaigns. The run-off election day will be held January 5th in Georgia. On the House side, Democrats retained their majority, but Chairman of the House Agriculture Committee (Colin Peterson D-MN) was defeated in his re-election race. Representative David Scott (D-GA) is a leading front runner for the post, but there are others interested as well. Congressman Crawford has also made it known that he'd be interested in vying for the top Republican spot on the House Agriculture Committee.
