President Biden signed several Executive Orders in his first days in office, and many of them were aimed at overturning actions taken by his predecessor. Included were orders aimed at freezing certain regulations for additional review and potential redirection. In addition, orders were made to review all existing regulations, orders, guidance documents, policies, and any other similar agency actions promulgated, issued, or adopted between January 20, 2017, and January 20, 2021, that are or may be inconsistent with the general environmental policy of the Biden administration. Agency heads are also tasked with considering suspending, revising, or rescinding the agency actions in such cases.
