On Monday, August 8, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) released an updated Crop Progress and Condition Report. According to the report, for Arkansas, 25 percent of corn is mature; 94 percent of cotton is setting bolls with 3 percent opening; 99 percent of peanuts are pegging; and 83 percent of soybeans are setting pods and 7 percent coloring. The report indicates crop conditions have improved due to recent rainfall and moisture that has provided drought relief and heat stress.
