The Arkansas Rice Council recently announced scholarship awards for its Rice Reps program, which is designed to engage youth to the Arkansas rice industry. The scholarship initiative offers a friendly competition that encourages participants to utilize social media to promote Arkansas rice. In addition, the program offers educational opportunities for the participants to learn more about rice production and rice as a food. The program is largely funded with the specialty license plate available in Arkansas. Arkansans are encouraged to "put some rice on their plate" to support the scholarship program and the Arkansas rice industry. Plates may be purchased at your local department of motor vehicles or state revenue office.
