Arkansas Revenue Numbers Continue to Impress

According to the latest monthly report from the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Arkansas’s general revenue tax collections continue to show strength as November's collections were 10.1% greater than the same month a year ago and in excess of the state's monthly forecast by the same percent. November is the 5th month of the fiscal year, and the collections to date over the five year period exceed forecasts by nearly 3 percent, which indicates another significant surplus to come at the end of the fiscal year if the momentum continues. The strong collections will likely allow for increases to the state's reserve funds and make passing proposed tax cuts more feasible in the coming special session.
