Arkansas's October Revenue Numbers Show Strength

According to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, tax revenue in the first four months of Arkansas’ fiscal year (July-October) was $2.589 billion,up 1.2% compared to a record period in 2020, with fiscal year-to-date collections in major categories just slightly above forecasts by 0.7%. Other revenue numbers appear to show continued economic health and strength as Arkansas continues to emerge from the Covid-19 pandemic. The true condition of the economy is difficult to measure given the massive amounts of federal stimulus funds that continue to feed economic activity.

In regards to the potential for a special legislative session to consider additional income taxes, Governor Hutchinson has yet to set a date. However, he has indicated that it won't come before the end of November.
