Arkansas Delegation Join Letter Calling for Cotton Industry Aid

Arkansas's Delegation in the U.S. House of Representatives joined a letter with their colleagues to the House leaders urging additional COVID-19 aid
for the U.S. cotton industry. The bipartisan letter was sent from 61 House Members to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) outlining the 1) economic impacts and losses being experienced across the entire U.S. cotton industry as a result of COVID-19 and 2) business disruptions the pandemic is causing.

The Ag Council of Arkansas appreciates the support of the Arkansas delegation for the Arkansas cotton industry in these challenging times. The cotton industry has been significantly harmed by the ongoing pandemic and the collapse in the oil market, and the damage caused is likely to lead to a long recovery even with additional near term aid. We urge Congress to deliver much needed aid to support the industry and the many jobs it provides.
