April 25 Crop Progress Report

On Monday, April 25th, the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) issued a Crop Progress and Condition Report. According to the report, Arkansas made some progress over last week, but is still well behind its 5 year average for all commodities due to rainfall and soil moisture.

According to the report, Arkansas corn was at 35 percent planted compared to its 5-year average of 67 percent; rice was 14 percent planted compared to its 5-year average of 48 percent; and soybeans were 12 percent planted compared to its 5-year average of 21 percent. Cotton and peanuts were reported to be slightly behind their 5-year average of acres planted by this date.
