April 18 Crop Progress Report

On Monday, April 18, USDA National Agriculture Statistics Service (NASS) issued an updated Crop Progress and Condition Report. While some modest planting progress was made from last week, farmers in Arkansas were still well behind its 5 year average due to recent rains and excessive soil moisture. According to the report, 26 percent of corn was planted, 9 percent of rice was planted, 8 percent of soybeans were planted, and 1 percent of cotton and peanuts were planted.
