Ag Climate Policy Talks Begin with Incoming Biden Administration

On Tuesday, November 17th, a group of national farm groups, including American Farm Bureau, paired with environmental groups to release a set of policy recommendations aimed at helping farmers benefit economically from their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address other environmental concerns including climate change. The release of the joint proposal, which focuses heavily on agricultural carbon credits, is aimed at delivering solutions that are voluntary and incentive based rather than mandatory and punitive for non-compliance. With President-elect Biden to become the 46th President of the United States, it's expected the incoming administration will take more aggressive action on environmental issues, including climate change, than the Trump administration.
