9th Circuit Makes Another Controversial Ruling Against EPA

The 9th Circuit Federal Court of Appeals recently made another controversial ruling related to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for crop protection products. This time, it's chlorpyrifos, a widely used group of insecticides. According to the ruling, the EPA has 60 days to either write a new rule to allow for the safe use of chlorpyrifos or halt all food residue tolerances of the insecticide, which would effectively ban most uses of it.

The insecticide is most criticized for its potential neurotoxic effects on infants and children.
