USDA RMA Announces Hemp Crop Insurance Policy for 2020

On Tuesday, August 27th, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA) announced that it would provide crop insurance for industrial hemp beginning in the 2020 crop year. A whole farm revenue program will be available for hemp grown for fiber, flower or seeds in areas covered by USDA-approved hemp plans or who are part of approved state or university research pilot programs.
