Trump Looks to Repair Damage from Ethanol Waivers

President Trump reportedly held a two hour meeting with administration staff recently to discuss how to address growing frustration from agriculture and renewable fuel advocates who are upset with recent RFS waivers granted to refineries. The EPA recently granted 31 waivers to refineries, and the renewable fuel industry strongly objected saying the waivers were not necessary and would cause great harm to the ethanol industry and corn farmers. The waivers also frustrated Republican and Democratic lawmakers and governors from states leading in corn and ethanol production.
