Ethanol Waivers Deal Blow to Corn Market

The Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) on Friday, August 9th, announced that it would provide 31 waivers to U.S. fuel refineries allowing them to avoid renewable fuel blending requirements. The news was upsetting to ethanol proponents who say the waivers are unnecessary and damaging to the ethanol industry and destructive to corn demand, thus harming U.S. farmers.
