Lawsuit Filed Challenging Arkansas’s ‘Ag-Gag’ Law

A legal advocacy group, which includes the Animal Legal Defense Fund, filed a lawsuit in federal court challenging the constitutionality of Arkansas’s so-called ‘Ag-Gag’ law. The law, which has been in effect since 2017, was established primarily to address corporate espionage issues facing agriculture businesses and other industries. With the widespread availability and use of smart phones, many businesses grew concerned with the threat of private commercial information being removed from the business without permission of the business owner and used in manners that could cause harm to the business.
