Plant Board Nominates Deputy Director Bray to Replace Director Calhoun Upon Retirement

The Arkansas State Plant Board has recommended the agency’s number two to replace Plant Board Director Butch Calhoun who recently announced his plans to retire on June 30th. Deputy Director Scott Bray has served in a variety of roles at the Plant Board for 26 years. Calhoun announced in May his plans to step down to spend more time with family and other personal priorities.

Calhoun served as Director for just shy of a year after replacing Terry Walker upon his retirement. Calhoun also previously served as Secretary of Agriculture in Arkansas from 2012 until 2014 when he retired from that position. Bray brings 26 years of service experience with the State Plant Board where he’s served in a variety of roles along the way. Director Calhoun recommended Bray to serve as his replacement in his retirement notice to the Plant Board.
