August Board Meeting Set for Jonesboro August 19th

On Monday, August 19th, the Ag Council of Arkansas Board of Directors will hold its next meeting in Jonesboro. The meeting will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn. The meeting will feature guest speakers and will offer the opportunity for the organization to conduct business and discuss policy matters.

The meeting is sponsored by Farm Credit MidSouth

Arkansas First District Congressman Rick Crawford is scheduled to speak and provide a policy update from Washington, D.C., with a focus on farm bill implementation, trade and disaster assistance programs, appropriations, and his legislative priorities.

James McJunkins, President and CEO of Farm Credit MidSouth, is scheduled to speak on the economic condition of agriculture in Arkansas.

Lisa Ferrell, Little Rock area lawyer and real estate developer, is scheduled to speak on the potential of Opportunity Zone tax incentives for commercial investments in certain communities in Arkansas.

Don Parker, Director of Integrated Pest Management with the National Cotton Council, will provide a regulatory update on issues impacting agriculture.
