AEDC Director Says Forrest City Textile Mill Project Frozen Due to Trade Dispute

It was reported in an April 22nd article by Arkansas Business that the Arkansas Economic Development Commission Director Mike Preston stated that the Shandong Ruyi Cotton Textile Mill Project in Forrest City was on hold due to the ongoing trade dispute between the United States and China. However, he also stated that the project was still “active,” and likely to regain momentum upon a U.S.-China trade deal.

The mill was expected to be a significant buyer of Mid-South cotton and was expected to employee roughly 800 people.
