Plant Board Announces Upcoming Meetings for Dicamba Rulemaking

State Plant Board’s Pesticide Committee to Meet on November 26
LITTLE ROCK, AR –
The Arkansas Agriculture Department’s State Plant Board voted on Monday, Nov. 5 to initiate rulemaking proceedings regarding the use of dicamba for “over-the-top” applications on dicamba-resistant cotton and soybean plants to control weeds.
The next step in the regulatory process is for the Plant Board’s Pesticide Committee to further refine usage restrictions under the framework of a petition submitted on Oct. 15.
The date for the Pesticide Committee meeting has changed from Thursday, Nov. 15 to Monday, Nov. 26, starting at 9:30 a.m. The meeting will take place at the Arkansas Agriculture Department located at 1 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock, AR, 72205.
The Pesticide Committee will present its recommendation for use of dicamba during the 2019 crop season at the Plant Board’s next meeting, scheduled for 1 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 6.
