June 12 Crop Production Report

On June 12, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) released a new Crop Production Report estimating production and yields for Arkansas’s winter wheat crop. According to the report, USDA estimates Arkansas’s winter wheat production for 2018 at 6.60 million bushels, with an average of 60 bushels per acre, which would represent an increase of 8 bushels per acre from 2017. Acreage is estimated to be down by 12 percent from 2017 with 110,000 acres.
