April 16 2018 USDA NASS Crop Progress and Condition Report

On Monday, April 16, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) released an updated Crop Progress and Condition Report for Arkansas. Farmers continued to make progress despite unseasonably cold weather and widespread rainfalls. According to the report 52 percent of corn acres were planted with 20 percent emerged, 27 percent of rice was planted with 3 percent emerged, 10 percent of soybeans were planted with 1 percent emerged, and 32 percent of winter wheat was reported as headed.
