Congress and Trump Agree to Short Term Spending Bill

Congress and the White House have approved a short term continuing resolution that will fund government operations until December 22nd. The short term spending bill buys a little more time to continue negotiations on a variety of issues. It also means that Congress will be working well into the Christmas holiday. Also on the agenda of work to complete before Christmas is a comprehensive tax reform bill that is currently lined up to be negotiated in a Conference Committee composed of selected members of the House and Senate. Completing work on both prior to Christmas is highly ambitious, and it’s likely one or both may be pushed into next year before completed.
