Senate Prepares for Consideration of Tax Reform Measure

On Thursday, November 9th, Republican leadership in the U.S. Senate presented its outline for legislation to reform the U.S. tax code.  The measure is expected to be released in full on Monday and considered in the Senate Finance Committee in the following days.  The action follows the steps taken in the U.S. House this week in the House Ways and Means Committee, which marked up its own version of legislation to reform the tax code. The two bodies will continue work on tax reform in the coming weeks attempting to meet President Trump’s very ambitious goal of signing a comprehensive tax reform bill by Christmas.
