USDA Releases Agricultural Risk Coverage (ARC) County Coverage (CO) Payment Estimates

On October 4th, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) released their 2016 county yields and national marketing year average prices for covered commodities for calculating Agricultural Risk Coverage – County Coverage (ARC-CO) payments.  ARC-CO is a county revenue program that makes payments when actual county revenue is below a guarantee set at 86% of a benchmark revenue. ARC-CO uses county average yields and national marketing-year-average (MYA) prices in the calculation of actual and benchmark revenues.

As was the case for 2014 and 2015 payments, 2016 ARC-CO payments will be reduced 6.8% due to the sequester requirement contained in the 2011 Budget Control Act. The sequester reductions are not incorporated into the payments shown in the FSA’s spreadsheet available at the link shown above.
