USDA Provides New Q & A on Insurance Replant Requirements

On May 15th, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency (RMA) created a frequently asked question (FAQ) document outlining issues related to replanting and final planting date requirements that should provide some benefit to Arkansas producers concerned with their existing crop insurance requirements as they relate to this year’s floods. A formal response from the Secretary regarding planting dates is currently being drafted. Farmers are encouraged to communicate with their insurance providers to determine how this guidance will impact their policy and the requirements within. This document came about following requests from Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Congressional delegation and other agricultural groups made a request for more flexibility regarding new RMA crop insurance regulations.
