Plant Board Sends Draft Regulations for New Penalties to Governor

The Arkansas State Plant Board on Wednesday voted to send to the governor new draft regulations that would provide for significant increases to civil penalties for egregious violations of herbicide technologies that cause significant off-target crop damage.  The regulations are required by a law passed by the Arkansas General Assembly (Act 778). The draft regulation is expected to go to public comment in the near future. The new regulations will allow for the Plant Board to assess penalties of up to $25,000 per violation depending on severity of each case.
