Senate Approves Farm Bill

On Monday, June 10th, the U.S. Senate approved the farm bill (S. 954) with a vote of 66-27.  Arkansas Senators Mark Pryor and John Boozman both voted in favor of the measure.  After passage of the farm bill, the Senate immediately pivoted to begin consideration of a bipartisan comprehensive immigration reform bill (S. 744).  Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) stated Monday that he hoped the Senate could vote for passage of an immigration bill by the 4th of July Congressional Recess, which will begin the weekend of June 28th.
